FOUNDER/CEO

JOHN LENAC

  • As the Head of Programming and Artist/Label Relations at Yahoo! Music, Lenac played a critical role in defining the digital music space. He managed a team that delivered music and video content to millions of fans globally, long before platforms like Spotify and YouTube became dominant. Under his leadership, Yahoo! Music became the largest music website on the internet, achieving record levels of audience engagement, revenue, and scale.

  • As Global Head of Business Development at PledgeMusic, Lenac helped expand partnerships with major and indie labels while integrating physical and digital music ecosystems. This role allowed him to foster deeper artist-fan engagement and drive monetization through innovative direct-to-fan campaigns.

techIT recently built the Citizen Soundcheck platform, giving artists faster, better ways to monetize their work while thrilling fans with all-access passes to limited-edition vinyl drops, available before the public release.

  • For Kluge Interactive, Lenac oversaw music strategy for the VR rhythm game Synth Riders. Procuring music licensing deals for Kluge and current client Flat2VR Studios, further pushes the boundaries of how fans interact with music in digital spaces.

During the pandemic, he helped to produce 150+ livestream events and raise more than $33M for various charities. After one of the David Bowie virtual tribute concerts, he worked with NASA to put Bowie's music on Mars!

  • Throughout his career, Lenac has supported artist development by helping launch careers and contributing to millions of album sales. Since 2016, he has shared his expertise as an instructor at Berklee Online, educating the next generation of music professionals in digital strategy and marketing. He has also previously lectured at institutions like UCLA.

John has made significant contributions to the evolution of digital music through his leadership roles, innovative strategies, and deep understanding of the intersection between music and technology.

Through these efforts, John has been instrumental in shaping how music is consumed, distributed, and monetized in the digital era.
